We organized the performance program for Alt_Cph 13 and curated part of it.

Aaron Wiliamson is an artist which engagement with performance, objects, place and space is entirely transformed through the experience of becoming profoundly deaf over the course of some twenty years. Informed by this radical personal alteration, my art practice takes an interdisciplinary approach. Hence, my artistic projects remain open to innovation according to circumstance and I have explored working with performance, installation, photography, video, sculpture, text, choreography and digital art – often combining elements within one work. In the last ten years I have created performances, publications, installations and artist’s videos in Britain, Europe, Japan, Greenland, China and North America.

Kristoffer Raasted: Opadstræbende Linjer
At the Art Academy, I work with performance, text, drawings and photography. In my spare time, I am a drummer in the punkband Mønsterrapporten and the rock-band Bright Kids, and in the improvisation duo Murkhøvd. With my performance, I wish to share a somehow religious experience, that I have had lately, a knowledge, that cannot be contributed to a specific confession, such as Christianity – and I wish to point to the importance of keep asking oneself the big, metaphysical questions; also in the year of 2013.

Albin Werle: Sleeping in a crowded exhibition space
At the moment, a dream is defined as a hallucinatory mental state consisting of images, thoughts and sensations appearing in the mind of a sleeping person. As we fall asleep and begin to dream, the mind creates a virtual space, inside of which it suggests a situation.
I am less interested in the situation, and more interested in that virtual space. How is it formed, what are the rules? What sensations enter from waking space? These are the questions I work with, trying to find the answers while I sleep, from within my dreams.

Nilas Dumstrei: Strømmed af ord
Words come in a constant stream attempting to speak them, disregarding their meaning and history. It is like a trance, but it stems from the numb feeling, everybody knows from looking too long into a computer. Where do the words come from, from inside me? What meaning do they have? Do I find them in an internal encyclopaedia, or are they found in memories and experiences as fragmented as the text itself? The character of the work probably lends itself to the latter hypothesis, but I really don´t know.
