2011: Duo performance with Sophie Dupont at Samtalekøkken
Duo Performance
Mathias Kryger performed with Sophie Dupont at Samtalekøkken. Their performance was developed in a completely collective work process. Togetyher they created costumes of found and cheaply bought materials and silent physical situations reminiscent of dance performances from early Avantgarde and Dada as well as from contemporary dance and theatre.
Donning red wigs that obscure their faces, they move slowly in the sparse light of a video projection that shows again and again the same sequence of historical film material: a woman knife thrower performs, placing her knives precariously close to a small girl on a podium while other children watch. Dramatic Music with cello and a low bass male voice play in the background.
