About the Artist
Andreas Liebmann studied at the Acting Academy in Zurich from 1993 to 1997. He has been teaching at the Universities of the arts Zurich, Berlin and Leipzig. Since 2015 he is teaching at The Danish National School of Performing Arts in the areas of idea-based and conceptual direction.

After spending some years as an actor at municipal theaters and in the independent theater scene, he founded the performance group GASTSTUBE° with Beatrice Fleischlin and Nicolas Galeazzi. Since the group split up, Andreas Liebmann has developed his own formats and working methods as a stage director, performer and author. He presented his performances in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Bolivia, the USA, France and Denmark. His plays are published by S. Fischer Verlag in Frankfurt and have been shown at Burgtheater in Vienna, Schauspielhaus Zurich, and the municipal theatres of Freiburg and Basel. His works include influences from science, conversations of daily life, anthropology and politics. The formal outcome depends on content and context.

Om liveart_dk was founded in 2004 in Copenhagen to promote the discussion, documentation and development of live art in Denmark. The organisation is equally inspired by the imaginative and entertaining English Live Art tradition as by the theoretical and political German theatre tradition. We have organised 10 large international festivals of Live Art for kids and adults since 2004, and over 40 discussion events, books, video series, symposia and more in the field of live art, performance art, art criticism and documentation. We collaborate with theatres, music venues, art museums and festivals in Denmark and internationally.
