Tangency “Tangency” was the title of the soundpiece that Veronika performed together with Christine Schörkhuber for Salon Saloon, a series of intimate performances, presented in our living room. The sound art duo used contact microphones to amplify the sounds of the space, bringing to live our walls and lamps, and their own bodies.

About the Artist Veronika Mayer is a freelance composer, musician and sound artist living in Vienna. Her works include instrumental and electroacoustic compositions, sound installations and performances with live electronics. She is active as an electronic improviser, performing solo and in different collaborations, as well as with visual artists. Pure sounds, natural given phenomena and materials are the basis for her work, always emphasizing hardly perceptible elements, giving it a reduced but essential form and very clear structures, following the characteristics and inner behaviour of the sound itself. In her electronic performances and instrumental works she explores the continuous evolution and expansion of single grains of sound. Focusing on the striking results of minimal changes in sound modulation, she observes the slightest differences and variations during these processes of manipulation.
Liveart.dk was founded in 2004 in Copenhagen to promote the discussion, documentation and development of live art in Denmark. The organisation is equally inspired by the imaginative and entertaining English Live Art tradition as by the theoretical and political German theatre tradition. We have organised 10 large international festivals of Live Art for kids and adults since 2004, and over 40 discussion events, books, video series, symposia and more in the field of live art, performance art, art criticism and documentation. We collaborate with theatres, music venues, art museums and festivals in Denmark and internationally.
