We – a Solo
Andreas participated in Samtalekøkken in February 2012. He presented his performance lecture “We – a Solo” as a work in progress. The piece investigates the relationship between society and the individual, audience and solo performer, and features Andreas in shorts, playing the cello and text projections.

About the Artist
Andreas Liebmann studied at the Acting Academy in Zurich from 1993 to 1997. He has been teaching at the Universities of the arts Zurich, Berlin and Leipzig. Since 2015 he is teaching at The Danish National School of Performing Arts in the areas of idea-based and conceptual direction.

After spending some years as an actor at municipal theaters and in the independent theater scene, he founded the performance group GASTSTUBE° with Beatrice Fleischlin and Nicolas Galeazzi. GASTSTUBE° developed experimental performances and created theatre pieces, durational performances, installations, bus tours, walks and other formats in German-speaking countries and France. Since the group split up, Andreas Liebmann has developed his own formats and working methods as a stage director, performer and author. He presented his performances in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Bolivia, the USA, France and Denmark. His plays are published by S. Fischer Verlag in Frankfurt and have been shown at Burgtheater in Vienna, Schauspielhaus Zurich, and the municipal theatres of Freiburg and Basel. His works include influences from science, conversations of daily life, anthropology and politics. The formal outcome depends on content and context.
