2021 “Out of Body Garment”, two performances and exhibition “Performance/Textiles”

Out of Body Garment
Sif was among the first artists to perform and exhibit her work at our project space Friisland. For “Out of Body Garment” she manipulated, altered and processed pieces of clothing and other materials into new shapes that resembled organic beings, prothesis and machine parts. For her first performance she covered her entire body, including the head and face, with black fabric, so the attention of the viewer was directed exclusively at the materials she was working with. In her second performance for the finnisage of the exhibition she attached some of the soft objects she had created to her body.

About the Artist
Sif is a Danish performance artist, educated at Det Fynske Kunstakademi, where she graduated in 2015. She often combines performance and installation to reflect about emotions, relations and identity. Textiles figure in many of her works.
